The Kentucky State Fair

On Friday we all went to the Kentucky State Fair. As expected it was huge. We were there from 9am till 4pm and still missed out on so much. We started out watching the World Horse Championships in the arena which was fun and then went outside to watch all the different shows they had going on. It was a mission just to stay hydrated it was so hot; over 40 degrees celsius. Despite the uncomfortable heat we still had a fantastic day and enjoyed our first American state fair.
Some of the inside displays were pretty good. There was so much to see that I don't think we even saw half of it.

There was heaps of livestock to see. Pigs, baby chickens, cattle and sheep.

A sheep having a careful haircut for judging.
A lovely brotherly moment.
Matthew liked the army tanks.
Rachel and Joel both HAD to do the rock climbing. A favourite past time of theirs that has been nurtured by Aunty Nicola.

This was a tiger show and this guy is in an enclosure with 8 tigers. It totally stressed me out. There was also an alligator show which was just as stressful. The two men running it were joking about getting into the pool and wrestling the alligator. Next thing we knew one of them was in there, wrestling the alligator. Children in the audience were screaming.
All the children had one ride each. The fair included Kentucky Kingdom, a huge amusement park, so the rides were pretty good. Anna-Marie was the only one who had been there prior and she talked Mark into going on the 'Road Runner'. It was fun listening to him scream around every corner. In a manly way, of course.
